Brief Introduction: Vigyan Praser is an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.The principal objective of VP is to serve India’s science popularization agenda. Science popularization, therefore serves as a robust knowledge led tool to fulfill three mutually reinforcing public policy objectives. Dr. Nakul Parashar is serving as Vigyan Prasar Director .VP fulfils its objective through strategically important tasks :

1. Markets software for S&T popularization in many languages i.e. vigyan prasar tamil , vigyan prasar kolkata etc

 

2.Uses multiple media / tools including Audio, Video, Radio, TV, Print, Kits as follows:

Applications are invited for engagement of various professionals in VIGYAN PRASAR at Noida/Delhi office for its Indian Science News and Feature Service on purely contractual basis from professionals fulfilling the eligibility conditions as prescribed below.

Managing Editor (Consultant News)	Rs. 1,20,000/-	1	Lead the team of science reporters and organising all science, environment and health-related news coverage as well as features ; writing regular science stories, and special features, editorials, edit page articles, Sunday features and book reviews Responsible for editing and anchoring on a variety of issues liaison with editors of news media etc.	Essential Qualification: (i)  Graduate from any recognised University/Institution; (ii)   At least ten years of experience in media, with at least five years as Editor/Assistant Editor/Bureau Chief positions in a reputed news channel/ print media; (iii)   At least three years’ experience in managing news. (iv)   Age: More than 50 years and less than 60 years of age.
2.	Sr. Copy editor (English)	Rs. 60,000/-	1	Re-write, edit and finalise stories, tweets. Social media messages, assist the chief editor, engage with the reporters and stories submitted by freelance writers. Copy editors would also be needed to cover events and write stories.	Essential Qualification: (i)   Graduate from any recognised University/ Institution; (ii)   At least 6 years of experience in media, with at least 4 years experience of reporting of Science and Technology. Desirable: (i) Degree/Diploma from a recognised university/ Institution in Journalism or Mass Communication or Electronic Media; and (ii)  At least 2 years experience of science and technology coverage in English. Age: More than 30 years.
3.	Reporter	Rs. 30,000/-	2	Report on assigned events, collect, collate and gather information to input correspondent and editors, write news stories, tweets etc.	Essential Qualification: (i)  Graduate from any recognised University/ Institution; (ii) At least 2 years of experience of reporting in media. Desirable: (i) Degree/Diploma from a recognised university/ Institution in Journalism or Mass Communication or Media Studies; (ii)  Experience in science and technology reporting / writing. Age: Less than 30 years.
4.	Graphics Designer	Rs.40,000/-	1	All graphics designs for news and feature stories.	Essential Qualification: (i) Graduate in Visual Communication and Multimedia/Fine Arts or Graduate in any discipline with Diploma/Certificate Course in Graphics Designing and Multimedia from a recognised university/ Institution; (ii)  At least 5 years experience in design and creation of graphics in a media using popular computer aided design tools and software like 3D Max, Adobe, etc. Desirable: (i)   At least 1 year experience of working on Corel draw, Photoshops, etc. Age: Minimum 28 years
5.	Data entry operators/ documentation/office asst.	Rs.25,000/-	2	Data entry work and various documentation work including typing.	Essential Qualification: (i) Graduation from a recognized University/Institution; (ii)   At least Three years’ experience in data entry. Desirable: (i) At least two years of experience in media house Age: Less than 30 years.
6.	Training Coordinator	Rs.60,000/-	1	Coordination of training workshops, webinars, meetings, and editorial writing.  Training Coordinator would also be needed to cover events and write stories.	Essential Qualification: (i)   Graduation from a recognized University/Institution; and (ii)   At least six years’ experience in media (Print or Television) and experience in Covering/ reporting Science and technology. (iii) Experience in media training. Desirable: (i)   Degree/Diploma from a recognized University / Institution in Journalism or Mass Communication or Electronic Media; (ii) Full-time / part time media training / teaching experience Age: minimum 35 years.

 

Other Terms and Conditions for Vigyan Prasar recruitment :

1. Application will be accepted in prescribed format only in online mode. Last date of submission of application is 6th July 2020.

2. Vigyan Prasar will in no case be responsible for non-receipt of their applications or any delay in receipt thereof on any account whatsoever.

3. Only Indian nationals are eligible for applying.

4. The crucial date for determining the eligibility in terms of prescribed qualification and experience will be the last date of submission of applications.

5. The selection will be based on academic qualifications, experience and performance in the interview. Eligible candidates may have to appear for skill Test/Personal Interview.

6. Candidates working in Government organization/PSU/must route their application through proper channel.

7. Please do attach (as per the requirements stated in online proforma) all educational, experience certificates in support of essential and desirable qualifications and age.

8. Documents in support of qualification, experience and age etc. have to be produced in original if called for interview.

9. Vigyan Prasar may relax age and experiences in case of the candidates otherwise found suitable.

10. In case of false or insufficient information/lack of proof to ascertain the eligibility of the applicant, their candidature can summarily be rejected at any stage of the selection process.

11. Mere fulfilment of criteria and submission of applications shall not confer any right to be called for interview/selection. No further communication in this regards will be entertained.

12. Call letters and intimations relating to this recruitment will be sent to shortlisted candidates by e-mail only. Applicants should ensure that the e-mail ID given in the online application is maintained active. Considering the prevailing scenario, the candidates may require to undergo skill test and interview on online platform as decided by Vigyan Prasar.

13. The appointment against the above positions will be purely on temporary basis initially for a period up to March 2021. The contact may further be extended in line with extension of the project period and also on the basis of performance of the candidate. The professional fee will however be governed by the new extended project sanction in case of extension beyond March 2021. Selected professionals do not confer any right of continuance in new project. Any extension will be at the sole direction of Vigyan Prasar.

14. The monthly professional fee payable for contractual positions shall be determined on the basis of applicants’ expertise, experience and professional standing.

15. Vigyan Prasar reserves the right to cancel/withdraw/postpone this recruitment notice.

16. Rules related to working hours/leave/increment etc. will be applicable to all selected candidates as per norms determined for the Project.

17. Engagement of professionals will be on full time basis and their place of work will be New Delhi/Noida.

18. Canvassing in any form shall lead to immediate disqualification.

19. No TA/DA shall be paid for appearing in Skill test/Interview.
